While we all look at our spiritual lives on the seventh day, it is good to have an awareness spirituality every day.  Just being aware of our spiritual lives provides hope and something to live for.  Viktor Frankel said this best in his book Man’s Search for Meaning, when he said that even in the concentration camp one can still decide what shall become of him spiritually.  This spiritual consciousness does not need terrible circumstances in order give your life meaning.  The following tips can help you see this more concretely.

  • Know that you are what your thoughts are, keep your higher being first and foremost in your life
  • Give thanks each day for the simple act of arising from slumber and greeting another day
  • Make your higher being your reason for your self improvement
  • Embrace your suffering for that which does not kill you makes you stronger
  • Let your higher being see who you truly are for you are perfect in His eyes

Practice these tips each day and bring your spiritual side each and every day.

Conscious Evolution Plan – Financial Goals

To get to where you want to go with your financial conscious evolution, you have to know where you are.    The only way to really know if you are progressing financially is if you have a firm grasp on your current financial picture.

Contrary to what you may have heard,  preparing your personal financial reports is not that difficult.    The first time will take the most time, it will take you around 30 to 40  minutes.  Then when you maintain and update the it on a monthly basis, it should only take you less than 15 minutes.   The other option, if you don’t want to do it yourself,  is to pay someone else to do it for you.  Either way works.  Just do it!!

For the purposes of your conscious evolution financial plan, keep it simple.  There are many different reports or statements that you can generate but it is best (for now) to keep it to two reports  -   a personal financial balance sheet and income statement.

Balance Sheet

A Balance sheet tells you what assets and liabilities (expenses) you have at a given point in time.    Then your assets minus your libilities gives you your net worth.   You can find a basic one by searching on the internet or create your own.  On the right side of the paper list all your assets (home, car, stocks, bonds, savings accounts, checking accounts, trading cards – anything of value that you want to track), assign a value to each item.  Then on the left side of the paper, list all your liabilities (mortgage, car loan, outstanding taxes, credit card bills, etc.), assign a value (the full amount of the debt not the monthly payment) to each liability.   Total each column, then subtract the liabilities from the expenses – that is your Net Worth.

Income and Expenses Statement

After your finish your  balance sheet, prepare an Income and Expense Statement. This document shows you what you have coming in and what you have going out.  Do the same thing with this sheet as you did with the balance sheet - on the right side list all your income (don’t forget interest, stock dividends, etc) and then on the left list all your monthly expenses (don’t forget the money you put in your savings, 401K, IRA, etc).    Subtract the expenses from the income and you have your disposable income.  If your expenses are higher than your income, review each expense listed to determine which one you can eliminate now or over time.

As you do this every month, you will begin to see changes in your net worth, income and expenses.  Remember what you focus on increases so focus on increasing your net worth and disposable income.

Then the final step is to take both of these documents and project what your numbers will be in 5 and 10 years based on your personal financial goals, assumptions, and aspirations.

3 Steps to Embrace Adversity

Ok, ok, I know what you are thinking “that’s easy for me to say because my life is easy, perfect, whatever”.    So let me start by telling you, this past year is the most challenging one that I have EVER faced.  Starting with a very stressful divorce from a long term marriage, to the loss of my mother, to huge tax issues, to surgery for both of my children
(including open heart), I have had my fair share of  stress and adversity.  And if that’s not enough for you there’s more, but I think you probably have the picture….  Nothing about this past year has been a cake walk.

I’m telling you this so that you know I understand at least some of what you are going through.  I’m not walking around with rose colored glasses, leading a charmed life and telling you to be positive.  Nope!

However, maybe I can give you a little different slant on things….

First, change your outlook. Times are changing!  History is being made and we are a part of it.  That to me is exciting.  And, it will definitely be more exciting when we are not in the midst of it.  When we can look back over what we learned.  For now though, just try to focus on the rapid personal growth and development that is taking place.  Give something negative in your life a new funny title that makes you smile versus frown when you say it.

Second, take care of yourself. Try to eat right, exercise regularly, get plenty of sleep, laugh with your friends, get a massage, meditate, get success coaching – anything and everything that makes you stronger, calmer, happier.  If you are having a particularly stressful day, take time for yourself! And remember to work on your Self Esteem Improvement everyday!

Third, learn from it. I believe that we go through these times for a reason and that if we don’t learn the lesson, we may find ourselves going through them again.  Well, I for one do NOT want to ever do this again!  So, look for the lesson.  What is it you can learn from your experience that will make you better, stronger, healthier, happier, nicer?  How you react in the face of adversity says a lot about you.  Do you lie when faced with adversity?  Do you hide your head in the sand?  Do you charge head on into it – meet it full front?  Do you retreat plan, then attack?  What about the people around you?  How do they act?  How do they influence you and how are you going to be better because of it?

Unfortunately, the truth is that without adversity most of us would never grow or change. Adversity encourages us to make changes, work on our personal development, and enhance our  strengths. Adversity opens our awareness spirituality and forces us to .

Beyond Appearances

By Angelo Geonie

Our Mind likes to categorize everything and everyone that we come into contact with, but this way of labeling everyone and every object slows our growth and development.  When we see beyond this limiting awareness, we open our spiritual consciousness, and see beyond mere appearances, there is more to this world than meets the eye.  People are not always what they appear to be, they put up facades to project an image or to hide a weakness, when we see beyond the surface we can connect on a deeper level and experience our own self empowerment, let your light shine from within and change the way you see the world.
