Personal Development Through the Gratitude of Laughter

Today I am thankful for Laughter. I have a wicked sense of humor, but it has made me almost sane. The sound of a child laughing is so special, the smile on my mother’s face when I tell a joke makes my heart lighter. I think laughter… and humor are what we are going to need to get us through the next few years. So keep smiling.

This post made me realize how often I have taken laughter and the simple things in life for granted, not truly appreciating them.  Laughter is such a simple thing but yet so very profound.   It can completely change your mood and turn an tough day into a better if not outright great day.

This post also made me stop and think about the other simple things in life that I take for granted – a smile, a hug, a kind word – things I am grateful for but never think to acknowledge with gratitude.  Things that my life would be empty without.

So during this Thanksgiving season as part of our own personal development, let’s pause, acknowledge, and give thanks for the  small, simple things in life!  Better yet, let’s make it one of our goals in life to daily give thanks for all the small blessing we have.  And don’t forget to laugh while you are at it!

Change Your Questions, Change Your Life

If you are looking for a simple way to improve your life and enhance your conscious evolution – change the questions you ask yourself.  It’s really that easy.

Your questions dictate how you live you life, why you do certain things, and even how you feel about people.  When you find yourself stuck, depressed or frustrated, it is often because of the questions you ask.  If you want better health, increased focus, more abundance, happiness – whatever it is you want - your self-talk questions either guide you to them or away from your personal goals.

Starting today, change your questions and see if, at the end of the week, it has made a profound impact on your life and your personal evolution.    If your questions are typically ‘why’ questions, start asking ‘what’ questions.  Rather than “Why is this happening to me?” ask “What can I do to have results?”  If you typically ask ‘what’ questions, start asking ‘how’ questions.    Or mix it up and ask different questions throughout the day.  Also, make each question  a conscious solution-oriented question.

You can be more positive, productive and properpous by using this simple question changing technique.   Changing your questions forces you to be more aware and hear your self-talk.  At the very least, it enhances your daily life perspective.

Simple technique, but not always easy….

Time Management Planning and Focus

I have a real hard time with the idea of setting a time management goal. We plan our day and then set up a calendar as to the way events are “supposed to happen”. There are many time management techniques out there to help you set up your day. This is how I think you should do it.

Time management planning with focus management involved.

1. Listen to MorningCoach.com CoachCast to get the right energy and attitude for the day.

2. Keep a calendar for appointments and schedule meetings, doctors visits, etc… not to-dos or sacred 6 items.

3. Use the MorningCoach.com system of setting up your sacred 6. What are the 6 most important things you need to do today and prioritize them.

4. Start on item 1 and work on it. Avoid distractions while you are working on it and only work on it until it is finished. If you have to leave for an appointment honor your calendar and go. BUT you should have made your first item something that could fit into the time without distractions before the appointment.

5. Work through your list in the same manner avoiding distractions from the task at hand.

You see the key to effective time management is to be able to identify your priorities throughout the day. It is like learning how to set goals. You have to set goals throughout the day and work on them without distraction. That is focus management. The time management planning comes when you place your appointments withing that structure.

Using smart goal setting and effective time management will all you to improve productivity and have more fun. It takes discipline to learn these techniques and focus. Remember, habits take time to happen. By being a part of MorningCoach.com each of these areas get better and your self empowerment will grow!

Integrity & Doing the Right Thing

How often as adults do we hear others rationalize or give excuses for really poor choices or behaviors in life?  Sadly, this has become a new pastime for people.  Incredibly, I have heard the most baneful actions (deceit, adultery) by others, be somehow attempted to be rationalized.  When you have made mistakes, own up to them and do not make yourself look worse by somehow attempting to place an excuse or somehow say that you are not wrong in any way.  Have the decency to admit wrongdoing.  You are not denigrating yourself, rather you are showing everyone you can do the right thing.

Living with honor is the true way of the warrior and has been held in high regard since the bedrock of time.  In our hurry up world where we somehow feel that we should have everything we want, it is easy to make a mockery of our honor.  Do not allow yourself to go down this road!  This is one area that you can control.  You may not be able to control everything in life.  Some human urges are sometimes impossible to control.  The error is not in falling victim to the urge, but personal growth and development is enhanced when we own up to things.

Accountability depends on trust. To hold ourselves  to be accountable to self  is to trust your judgment and to believe in the truths and values that we are. It also helps if we can sense that we have our best interests at heart.  Accountability is directly related to the principle of submission. Every person must struggle with the natural tendency toward rebellion.  Accountability involves allowing yourself the permission to struggle and fail sometimes.  Just pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and go out there in live like a warrior!  Personal growth training occurs during these times of failure.  Use these times not for shame but for some self empowerment.  You are greater than any failure in life.
