Intention and IKEA
INTENTION SET AT IKEA

Intention at IKEA
How does this energy of Intention happen I ask myself? I remember hearing from speakers and reading in books “we are setting intention all the time in every moment and in every daily act”.
Today a swift memory pops into my head and I have a vivid childhood memory of “kick the can” and “hide and seek”. What fun I can feel the energy right now in very moment as if it was my childhood.

Kick the Can
I am in our old neighborhood running and running, heart is pounding, pulse racing, as i sprint toward the can. I kick it, jump in the air, twirl and dance around the sacred spot where the can once stood. Victory is mine! All mine! And I am out of my mind in happiness.
One of the principals for creating intention is to create an emotional charge. This can be conscious or unconscious for the participant. Fun, and exciting is life when we live with play, making dreams come true. We can actually watch intention happen. This is a story of unintended intention (which is impossible because we are always setting intention). If you are confused by the last statement it just means we are not aware of setting an intention some times.
Two young women are happily talking as they stroll around IKEA. Carrying large blue bags wide open for all possibility of fulfillment. I am one of these women. The Ikea ritual happens when, my daughter, Chelsea, comes to visit. Today we are celebrating a new pregnancy with the endless decorating inspirational ideas of IKEA. The mission in our minds is the nursery with fun choices of theme, colors, and baby items. Baby shopping is new for us. With light steps we follow the arrows on the floor of Ikea. These arrows lead you around the store its a big place and people actually get lost in the maze of shopping delights. We have steps so full of excitement for the discovery hunt and as we turn a corner a scene in front of me halts me in my tracks. Stop! Stop! STOP!!Chelsea, I see something over there that library display is calling my name. I am excited I really want a library! Take my picture please! I think this library will be mine some day. I can feel it in my heart and I want a trophy photo! Proudly I pose in the beautiful library Ikea had laid out with all the delicious colors, textures, and decorations. I am feeling confident and proud.
The snapping shutter from the camera set forth an focused, clear, emotional intention for a library in my future.
Four months later I am sitting in my new library surrounded by six 8 foot book shelves decorated with rich red accessories looking at all my loved books, sitting in front of a beautiful fire in the wood stove typing this story with the satisfaction of an
intention well fulfilled.
