3 Steps to Consistent Purpose

iStock_000016880083XSmallFriedrich Nietzsche once said, “To forget one’s purpose is the commonest form of stupidity.” Unfortunately, many of us spend years if not decades “stupid” and asleep to the idea of living our purpose or perhaps better said, living on purpose. So whether you are 9 or 90, every person who seeks to live wisely, must reach a place where they ponder, “What is my purpose for being here?” What is my intention or what goal have I set out to attain that represents my life?

1. Introspection-Deep contemplation of the gifts and talents that are woven into your being is necessary in determining your innate purpose.  It is important to remember that each of us is unique and each of us bring our one of kind paintbrush to the mural called life.

2. Alignment with Values-When we connect our deepest core values with our talents, something magical happens. What are your top 5 core values? Are you aligning these with your gifts and talents?  If not, why not?

3. Living Boldly-Many people know their gifts and talents and many people also know what values are powerful and meaningful to them. However, there is something that keeps them from connecting the two together. That something is fear. False evidence appearing real. Whether it is fear of failure or fear of success or something in between, it is still blocking your true purpose. It takes boldness and clear intention to step out and truly embrace your life purpose in a dynamic and fulfilling way.

If we get one thing right this year, let’s get consistent in our purpose.  Let’s start living boldly in alignment with our values and talents and truly impacting the world for the better.  I’m ready to stop being “stupid,” how about you?

Angry, Sad, happy Your Choice

Feeling Is A Choice

Feeling Is A Choice

Sunday morning Sandy Jean sits in front of her computer with a cat in her lap.  She remembers in the book Power vs. Force that a Cat’s purr calibrates at a high feel good number.  There is a debate about what feelings calibrate higher in the scientific world but to her in this moment with the cat in her lap she feels happy.  Sandy Jean is interested in the feeling scales because she has been learning and experiencing that we really are suppose to feel good and that through becoming a deliberate creator we can reach good feeling states.

The other day while at her local grocery store she was strolling down the meat counter when she observed the butcher coming toward her.  She observed  his nostrils were were flared and he was breathing  like a bull right before they let him out of the pen with a unwanted rider on their backs at a rodeo that she didn’t want to be in his way.  She quickly swerved her cart as he sped past her and utters some words to a customer trying to cover his agitation with a customer service smile.  The customer uttered words of equal intensity back at him and they went back and forth for a few min and then both turned and left.  The customer was still ranting as she pushed her cart toward the front of the store. As Sandy Jean began rolling her cart down the same isle she thought of the feeling scale and Law of Attraction.  This was a perfect match of feeling states between the butcher and the customer.  Neither had wanted any other state of mind at that moment and the emotional energy was too charge to be shifted.  It was a perfect example of Law of Attraction.  Sandy Jean was smiling now, as she was grateful to have observed the law in a scenario that she was not emotionally in the middle.

Law of Attraction is operating all the time.  It is auniversal law like gravity.  To become a deliberate creator you must practice where you are putting focus, energy, and feeling.  We continually define our own reality word-by-word, thought-by-thought, and feeling-by-feeling.

Four Tips for Deliberate Attraction Creation:

  1. It is interesting to look at feeling charts and you can check out several at this site or just Google feeling scale
  2. To deliberately create your own reality study “The Law of Attraction.
  3. Daily write down proof of what you are attracting in your journal.
  4. Law of Attraction is like learning a foreign language like Spanish, or French.
  1. Summary

Life really is suppose to be fun all of it the highs and lows.  True integration comes with all the emotions on the feeling scales.  No one can do this for us.  Our own daily experience will provide us with enough learning and entertainment once you become a deliberate observer and creator.

Pivot your negative thoughts

Pivot your negative thoughts

Pivot your negative thoughts

Sandy Jean is disturbed by the fearful thoughts that are filling up her mind and she wants to change them.  As she thinks about how to do this she remembers a process from the Law of Attraction Book by Abraham-Hicks called the focus wheel. She signs deeply with appreciation as she knows she can get relief from these thoughts that fill her mind by the process of the focus wheel.  She has used it on clients in the past and many times on her self sometimes as much as five times a day with wonderful success. Sandra Jean knows from experience that the focus wheel is a process to get you into a good feeling place so that everything shifts in her favor.  She has been on the sweet spot on the focus wheel so many times that now not being there in that sweet spot feels awful. Today she is riding in a car on her way to Spokane, Washington, with her husband, Lawrence, to visit their daughter and son in law and their grandchild and she is feeling uneasy about the weather.  In the past this same drive has taken several hours longer of dangerous driving when there was snow and icy conditions.

One year they passed 12 cars that had slid off the road because of ice on the road. Sandy Jean received a text from her daughter, as they got closer to Spokane telling her that the roads were slick and it was starting to snow.  As Sandy Jean glanced at her husband she saw a beautiful peaceful smile on his lips as he sings “I’m Dreaming of a White Christmas with Johnnie Mathis on the radio and she makes a decision.  I am not going to tell him of the text I just got from our daughter about the possible fearful weather conditions that await them.  Instead She reaches into the back seat and opens up her briefcase and pulls her red moleskin journal where she had been keeping her focus wheels. Pen in hand she draws a small circle and enters in the middle of the circle with her pen my now moments are always guided by my highest source, the power that creates worlds. The idea of the process is to hold a vibration of what you desire for 17 sec or more and your reality will be one that you desire and in this case not fear based.  In the middle of the circle she writes, I love knowing the power that creates worlds is unfolding and orchestrating a wonderful drive to Spokane and around the circle she writes:

- I can feel my heart beating in anticipation of this power working for my highest good on small things and big things.

- I am so happy that I have learned how to pivot energy

- I love feeling happy now and about my future with Lawrence.  We are making plans for travel, and fixing up our house.

- I feel so happy with the happy times of this Christmas and it feels like past Christmases are all melding into happy feelings May all people be happy May all Christmases be happy.

- I am excited to learn how to work with the power that creates worlds

- I love thinking that this focused thinking of more than 17 sec. has made my vibration come up into positive expectation so good comes to me and those I love which is all of you from the power that creates world

I have great positive feelings now in the car as the radio gaily sings “Let it snow”, Let it snow.  As we enter Spokane it is snowing but it is the kind of snow scene you see in the movies and my heart feels warm and as I see the glow a porch light and my family standing in the door way waiting for us with the love of Christmas in their hearts and I think May all Christmases be happy for all the loved ones in the world.

WANT OR INTENTION?

I consider the act of wanting as passive. It is defined as “the desire to possess or do something.”  I equate this to children at Christmas time or around their birthday making a list of what they want to receive for gifts and then just waiting around for the special day to hopefully receive their  requests.

iStock_000012723220XSmallIntention is the grown-up version of wanting. The definition of “intention” is “an aim that guides action; an objective; a course of action that one intends to follow.  Therefore, instead of just sitting around and waiting for it to happen, we put forth effort to ensure that what we desire comes to fruition.

In the physical sense of intending, we study hard while in school to get the grades required to be accepted into the college of our choice, we perfect our craft with a multitude of practice hours on the football field or dance studio and we are conscientious once in the ranks of the workforce in order to climb the ladder to management.

Have you thought about intention in the metaphysical sense to up the score? It is also possible to increase the probability of our desired outcome by setting forth intentions to ourselves, God and the Universe for what we are going to manifest.  Doing this solidifies a determination and, more importantly, a belief, that what you desire will be yours.

You can send your intention out into the world by visualizing the manifestation of your desire with great detail. Be very specific in all the minute details.  Putting your visions and dreams down on paper, either in a story or picture format, also helps solidify your thoughts, turning them into beliefs, giving you something more concrete to keep by your side.

For successful intending and living, it is important to nurture our body, mind and spirit in order to be open to receive. God and the Universe are always on our side and will bend over backwards to align the stars for us.  However, we need to make sure we first align ourselves by being as healthy as possible in order for the energy to flow through, unobstructed.  Keeping our body healthy is best accomplished by eating pure, unprocessed foods, as close to their original source as possible, to give us the needed nutrients to function at optimal health.  It is also a wonderful idea to slow down and really give thought about what we are eating as well as bless the food, its source and the energy it possesses, before taking that first bite.  We also need to keep our muscles strong, our bodies limber, and our heart pumping through cardio, stretching and resistance-training exercises.  Our spirit can be exercised, as well, through singing praise, prayer, meditation, journaling, attending church services plus whatever methods you prefer in order to stay connected to your source.  Our minds will stay healthy by allowing positive messages to come in while excluding the negative, continuing to learn and keeping an open mind.

Intention can be used for every facet of our lives from intending to have a fabulous day when you wake up in the morning, to intending to travel safely with no incidents or accidents on the way to work, to meeting just the right people to help you catapult your business into the heavens, to finding your soul mate.  You are limited only by your desire and imagination.

Don’t live passively through life…live with intention.

Making That Tough Decision!

Decisions sign in the skyFor so many people making decisions do not come easy and most daily decisions are made without thought and come from a reactive position filled with emotion.  What about those tough decisions? Fear of failure and making the wrong decision can lead you to live your life filled with resentment, stuck and empty.  Last year I had to make one of the toughest decisions of my life and had to embrace that fear head on.  I wasn’t happy at work and found the leadership and management values were not congruent with my own personal and professional values. I just wasn’t where I wanted to be in my life. There were other factors involved, but the bottom line was I wanted to retire early.  I wanted to take that leap of faith and work for myself and follow my heart and my passion.  I did not want to spend another 5 to 10 years in a job that did not make me happy.  I didn’t want to settle in the world of mediocrity.  Here are some of the strategies that helped me and can help you make that hard decision.

I asked myself one fundamental question: How is this job serving me and the greater good?  I knew at a deep intuitive level that it was time to change. I couldn’t imagine or see a future in it. The job was not serving me nor serving the greater good.  I believed in myself and listened to my intuition to follow my calling.

Stop to get clarity.  Early in days of frustration there were times when I just wanted to quit.  I knew this was coming from a position of overwhelming emotion so I stopped!  Once I stopped thinking and reacting, took a few deep breaths I began to have clarity and the tension subsided.  Before you have to make a difficult decision, stop and take time to breathe and ruminate on the possible results and action of your decision before you commit to it.  You will find clarity to make that decision.

Talk it out.  I knew that retiring early would affect my family.  I wrote out the details of my decision and then discussed it with my spouse.  It is important that you discuss your plans going forward so that when you do make the decision you are supported.  We worked out all the angles knowing that by losing that extra income would have an impact on our financial situation.  We covered all the basis.

No backing out.  Once you make that difficult decision there is no backing out.  Make the decision, commit to it and then move on.  Pay attention to your feelings, it’s natural to feel nervous but if you are listening to your heart you will know in the long run that the decision was right and you will feel more at ease.

When I make a tough decision I make it with the right intention in a positive way and know with all my heart I am serving my higher self.  I did retire in January of this year after over 30 years of a public service and a military career.  I am now living and pursuing my dream as a Personal Development Coach.
